Estes Park Anniversary

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary a bit early since the actual date is one month before the baby arrives. I wasn't sure how much I'd want to do at that time, so we headed up to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park on June 18th - June 20th. We stayed at a Bed and Breakfast for the weekend and spent most of our time in the park. We originally planned on spending some time in the city of Estes Park, but it was really crowded and the park proved to be more fun. We were hoping to see big horn sheep since we didn't see them last August. We ended up with our only wildlife sightings being of elk. Lots of elk. Several male elk. Micah ate elk. More elk. I'm done with elk.

The best part of the trip are the pictures, so here they are:

Our room was called The Bear's Den, so of course we had these guys welcoming us. The room had a skylight above the bed to let air in and to get a nice view of the stars and mountain sky.

I thought this was adorable:

Us in the park:

This sign was on the way up the mountain:

This is what is to the left. Is the sign really necessary? Are people that stupid? Duh! You go off the side of the mountain! On a side note, there isn't a sign from the other direction saying "no right turn"...
Micah in front of one of the Aspen's that the elk use to scrape their antlers on. They are much taller than Micah.

One of the many male elk we saw. He walked right past our car just a couple of houses from the B & B.

This lady was eating about 10 yards from the side of the road. We stopped to take pictures and she kept getting closer, so we took turns posing with her. Here I am at 24 weeks.

This guy was also by our B & B. He stopped close enough to the car that we could have reached out and touched him.
The snow banks left in mid June. They are way taller than the cars and SUVs.

The sign next to where Micah was standing. I think this is a bit redundant.

Remember it is mid June.
We have other pics that are beautiful, but I couldn't decide between them. If you want to see them, let me know and I'll email you a link.
