Orlando

At the beginning of May we took a trip to Orlando, FL to visit my friend Erin and her family. We relaxed and went sight seeing including going to Disney. It was our first trip with a potty trained child, but Julia did really well. Our flight was early in the morning on May 1st and we had to sit on the plane while it was de-iced because it was snowing! Julia enjoyed watching.

Our first Florida adventure was a pregnant me carrying Julia while half running, half walking from the rental lot back to the airport while saying "no pee pee on Mama." Thankfully we made it, but the heat and humidity was making it interesting for Mama.

Our first sight seeing destination was the Gaylord Palms. It's a super fancy hotel that has a beautiful tropical atrium complete with alligators and a spot for Micah to do some fishing. Yep, Douglas Moose needed to see this too.

We spent a lot of time swimming and at the splash park, even though the locals thought it was too cold.

And, you can't be in Orlando without going to Disney. We spent one day at Magic Kingdom and one at Animal Kingdom. Julia's first ride was The Little Mermaid ride that told the entire story while riding in a giant clam shell, or flower as Julia called it. We next went to story time with Belle where Julia got to meet Belle. The highlight of the day for sure! After walking around a bit and having lunch, we ended the day with Julia's first carousel ride on Prince Charming's Regal Carousel. She'll tell you she rode on an orange horse.

At Animal Kingdom, we went to The Lion King show. We sat in the elephant section which meant we were to act like elephants periodically. Here is Julia as an elephant.

Excitedly pointing at various things in the show.

                  Watching in awe.

Of course you can't go to Disney without getting Mickey ears, giraffe themed Mickey ears.
