It all started with one cry

It all started with one cry from Julia Thursday evening an hour after she went to bed. She had been coughing, and to be as little graphic as possible, a mess was made. After a change if sheets, pjs, and a tuck back in, Micah and I looked at  each other knowing what was coming. Illness had hit our house. We had a 3 week old baby and began to fear the worst. The next day Julia was so cranky that we canceled our plans for the day. Then, that night, it happened. My throat was sore.

I started feeling the effects of Julia's cold. There's no cold medicine on my list of approved medications and I was (am) barely sleeping, so of course I was going to get sick. We allowed Julia to hug Mariella once again. Since I was sick, what would it matter? On Monday, I noticed it. The tiny, pathetic cries. The refusal to be awake. Mariella had caught it too!

Now, a new mom of two, barely finding a balance to that, and now I have two sick kids and am sick myself. Monday was a cartoon day.

Micah caught it a few days later. He doesn't get much mention because he can take cold medicine. (I'm not jealous at all *sarcasm*) There has been little sleep, lots of Kleenex, and lots of crankiness this week by even the most mature of us (at one point this week, I whined right back at Julia. Before you think I'm terrible, you need to know that she cracked up. It stopped the whining. Now you think I'm brilliant, don't you). I think we're finally on the mend and I survived but the house is a mess. Please come clean my house, because I REALLY need a nap.
