Denied!
I just heard from the neurologist's office. They heard from the insurance company and my request for Botox treatment was denied. I'll be getting a letter in a few days and can start the appeal process. I'll just have to wait and see what happens.
if i may ask, what are the treatments you requested for? i get Botox treatments at neuro for my daily migraines... they aren't really effective, but as there aren't any side effects (other than reactions to the injections themselves, as with any shots) there isn't any harm in trying it at increasing doses every few months. the value of the amount i get each dose is approximately $600, but we only pay a $25 co-pay. however, to get approved, i had to try numerous other things first, and i'm in a chronic pain management program as well. this is just one of my health problems, daily migraines, but if you get migraines as well, PLEASE leave me a comment so i can try to be of help with suggestions, etc. - i'm only 22 but i've had migraines since age 6, daily ones since age 14.
I have bad muscle spasms in my neck and back that have caused my spine in my deck to become straight. This causes all sorts of headaches and pressures and the like. The neurologist wants to use the Botox to help all my muscles relax. It's good to know that there's hope to keep trying to get this treatment approved. I am really hating insurance companies right now.
