I teach 1st - 3rd hours. So my weekly schedule works like this:
Monday, Tuesday, and Friday we have 48 minute classes. I'm done teaching at 10:05. I usually stay until about 11 or 11:30 (Julia naps til then, so there's no point picking her up from daycare in the middle of her nap).
Wednesday is our block schedule. I teach all day, until 2:40. The classes go 1st, 2nd, 4th, 3rd (I don't know why, it's just what they do). I get a planning period that day, so that's nice but I do have to work all day.
To offset that, I don't work on Thursdays. I think Thursdays are going to become my favorite days.
Julia seems to be loving daycare. We are fortunate enough to be using the same lady that we had last year. Julia hasn't napped well there yet, but I think she's too excited about all the other kids and new toys. I'm sure in a week or two she'll settle into things. Every time I've picked her up she's been very happy. I think this is a great balance of time home with her and away from her especially since Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays her time in daycare is her morning naptime.
In a side note, I've decided that my students are going to play fantasy football this year. No computer programs calculating scores. We're going to practice those fraction skills! I think it'll be great. Micah's jealous that he didn't get to play fantasy football in his math classes :)
