So we realized recently - or not so recently - that we've got some incredibly cute videos of Julia that we need to share with family and friends. Plus, sitting here, just a couple weeks away from going to the Midwest for Christmas, we don't want anyone to feel as though they've missed out on some of Julia's growing up.
We'd ideally have given a post for each of these videos, but given the hectic-ness of our schedule, this'll have to do. I'll try my best to add short descriptions for each.
Julia Laughing at Daddy:
Who doesn't like a video of a laughing baby, really? There's just something contagious about laughing babies. Anyway, here's Julia laughing at Daddy while he played with the cats (a game of tossing toy mice up at them from the landing, while they bat at the flying rodents - game Grandpa "created" when he first visited Colorado).
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall ...
Of course she's the cutest of them all! During our Midwest Tour - Summer 2011, Julia had a great time with family and friends. Up 'til that visit, we thought she had everything she'd ever want for the time being - toys, books, family and friends who love her, etc. Then we discovered that our house was missing one thing - a mirror like the ones hanging in Grandma and Grandpa's house.
The Female Michael Phelps ... We'll Give Her Few More Years
Also during our Midwest Tour - Summer 2011, we were able to finally take Julia swimming - which was made very easy given that Gramy & Gral have a pool in their back yard! Now there's a strong tradition of good swimmers from Mamma's side of the family - including, but not limited to Uncle Russ, Grandpa, and of course Mamma. So, we were curious how she'd do. Although I don't remember, I'm sure this was a much better debut than Daddy's first swim (which I can only guess included fears of Jaws coming to eat him - but that's a story for another day). Special thanks to Julia's cousins Jane and Cate for helping.
If the Swimming Thing Doesn't Work Out ...
How about becoming a building inspector? There's a strong engineering background on Daddy's side, though decidedly, not in Daddy himself, but from Gral, Uncle Justin, Aunt Ro-Ro, Uncle Patrick and Uncle Randy, among others. That may explain why she's unhappy with Daddy's building skills. Apparently, Daddy didn't follow proper block-building codes.
