Holy Hail Batman!

At the beginning of June we had a hail storm. This was no ordinary hail storm. This was a crazy hail storm. On Wednesday June 6th it rained and hailed for several hours. Our house was bombarded with hail for at least an hour. A friend's car was damaged and asked one of Micah's coworkers (and former meteorologist) what the chances were of that happening again on Thursday night. He basically said never in a million years. So, what happened? Of course it hailed again. Not for nearly as long, but this time we had hail at least as big as golf balls wreaking havoc on our house.

The hail and rain highlighted in the sky by the sun, because it was sunny during most of this storm. Typical Colorado.

The hail collecting on our deck

Our backyard completely flooded. The good news about that is the dirt moved around enough to finally fill the hole in the backyard. We had a nice pond going for several hours. Thankfully it never came in the basement windows, although it was getting fairly close.

The hail on day 2 of the storms.

We called a roofer after all of these storms and he said we had hail damage. From this storm we got a new roof and a new gutters all covered by the insurance company! We now have a pretty new roof and gutters.
