We found a few new places to play this summer. We found a splash park which Julia actually played in. She doesn't like water on her head or splashing up at her, but she seemed to enjoy this place. We also found a couple of fun new parks. Here are the pictures.
Mariella wasn't so sure about the water at first.
Julia jumped right in to the small water spurts,
but wasn't very thrilled to run under the rainbow as the water fell onto her head.
Mariella stood up and made me help her walk over to the waterfall rainbow and stayed there for a good 5 minutes. I think her hat helped her to tolerate the water falling on top of her head.
Julia could not let her baby sister show her up. She joined Mariella, but only lasted about 30 seconds. By the way, Aunt Katie, do you recognize those glasses Julia's wearing? She calls them goggles. They're perfect for the splash park.
We went out in search of a new playground since I was bored and didn't want to go to any of the ones we normally play. We went in search of the "Alice in Wonderland" playground that I had heard rumors of. We had tried searching for it once before, but had no luck. This time we found it and I took a picture of the cross street so I'd remember where it was.
One of two doors at the park. The other one is larger than life. Julia likes the "Julia size" door the best.
There was, of course, a cheshire cat.
The playground had two different castle structures to play on. A big one and a little one, of course.
We played for a while and then decided to follow the path of the cheshire cat's tail. It lead us to...
Yep, Zuckerman's farm and his one and only famous pig, Wilbur.
Wilbur hasn't let stardom go to his head. However, in a moment of poor judgement, too much booze, and a night out with Justin Bieber, Wilbur now has a tattoo on his booty. (It's the symbol of the community where the playground is, but I have no idea why they'd put it on a pig's behind.)
Julia played in the barn for a long time (the only bit of shade in the entire area),
rode a horse,
and became good friends with Charlotte.
They became such good friends that Charlotte even let Julia climb in her web. She did all by herself. I only spotted her. This is a big accomplishment for her since she's usually extremely hesitant and cautious when it comes to climbing on things. She usually insists on help. She's finding her adventurous side.
On the way back to the car via the Alice in Wonderland park, we saw this guy. Hmmmm .... I wonder if he's late....
