We had a beautiful Saturday morning today, so we decided to load up the kids and the dog and go on a short hike. The idea (hope) was that Julia would walk the entire thing by herself. Depending on where you look and what site you believe, the internet has this hike listed at either .6 miles or .8 miles. The way up is all uphill with man made "stairs" and the way back is all downhill. Julia did awesome! She walked up the entire way. They have some benches, so we stopped a few times to give her a break before climbing up more stairs. On the way down, Micah carried her for a very short distance, just enough to help her realize that she can do this.
Here are pictures from Julia's first hike to see two waterfalls at the Helen Hunt Falls trail in Cheyenne CaƱon. We're so proud of her!

Mariella is very happy to be riding in the backpack.
Everyone's at the trail head. It's time to hike!
We made it to the top! Then needed to rest for a while in the shade.
We hiked our way to the top together. She spent the entire time holding my hand.
This group hiked to the top together. Ari was especially glad for a break in the shade!

The champion! She finished her first hike! She rocked it!
Then we went into the little visitor center and made a friend.
